Among the 40 tech projects on display at the recently ended Bits on our Mind (BOOM) showcase at Cornell, Apomden won the Amazon Innovation Award for its software that helps healthcare administrators manage bed availability and coordinate patient transfers in hospitals in hospitals with limited internet availability. We were also the recipients of the faculty choice award. Apomden is hoping to pilot its software in hospitals in Ghana in the coming months before a full scale roll out.
BOOM is an annual event hosted by Cornell Computing and Information Science in partnership with Cornell Engineering to allow students to showcase exciting projects that they are working on.. It is sponsored by Disney, Goldman Sachs, Vista Equity Partners, Schlumberger, Workday, EY, Amazon, Sandia National Laboratories, and Air Liquide.
